The final weeks before the festival are very exciting as we start to really experience the buzz of excitement in our community. One month. One month until a weekend of celebrating the many artists who work so hard in the Iowa City community. Dancers, musicians, poets, writers, filmmakers and more will gather together to experience each other's work. The festival will kick off on Friday, October 18th with an On The Screen portion. Having gathered ScreenDance entries from nearly 100 countries, we promise diversity and authenticity. We will follow this with a Saturday full of master classes and a big celebratory concert led by guest company DanceWorks Chicago. This show will feature live music, spoken word, and of course, dance.
