We are pleased to announce our plans for the Iowa Dance Festival 2023!

Iowa Dance Festival is seeking masterclass teachers for our series of classes on October 13-14. We are also looking for performers for our evening performance at Roberts Theater in Grinnell, Iowa.

IDF2023 will provide a forum for a community of artists to collaborate and create dance/performance through new artistic expressions. This informal presentation/showing is to support community building within the dance community.  ​

The festival is open to all creatives. This year, there will be no application process. We simply ask that you email us with your interest and provide a work sample.

Deadline to submit your proposed work via email: Friday, September 22

Iowa Dance Festival will provide:

• Performance theater space.
• Sound system. 
• Work lights (no design lights).
• Promoting artist (teachers, choreographers, companies, directors) work on the festival website, and social media.
• Opportunity to present choreographic work from different genres--new or recently re-worked. 
• Opportunity for local students to perform.
• A platform for artist to network

Festival Participants Responsibilities:

• Cover their own transportation to and from the festival.
• Perform the same piece as described in their submission via email. 

• Length of work should not be more than 8 minutes long.
• Cover their own housing and food.
• Provide performance quality music file in a single track in a file for upload.
• Send your music as soon as possible via email.
• Provide a backup copy of your sound/music. 
• Participate in the walk-in for sound check and spacing between 4:30 – 6:00pm on Saturday, October 14.
